Far Cry 2 is the second game in the open world first-person shooter Far Cry series, developed by Ubisoft Montreal. While the first game in the series was an XBoX 360 exclusive, subsequent releases (including Far Cry 2) were multi-platform. The game is unique in the series so far as the only one to not use the 'isolated tropical island' setting, instead favouring realism in the location of a failed central African state in the grip of civil war. The player's task, as one of a number of selectable characters, is to find and assassinate The Jackal, an arms dealer selling weapons to both sides in the conflict. This goal must be accomplished by any means, even if it means succumbing to the immorality of either side - or of the Jackal himself.
