In Dead Rising, the player controls protagonist Frank West as he fends the zombies while trying to find out who started the zombie outbreak in Willamette, Colorado. The game includes hundreds of different odds and ends that can be used as weapons, including the crudest of things like rubber balls. The game can support up to 900 zombies on screen at once.
Dead Rising introduces the new generation to zombie games, as it was the first zombie title on the Xbox 360. It also introduces Frank West, which would be the protagonist in Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, a secondary character in Dead Rising 2: Case West, and a DLC fighter in Marvel VS. Capcom 3.
Also, psychopaths make there first appearances. They are crazy survivors driven insane by the outbreak and only wish to see that their wants are met.
