I dropped the ball last time I attempted this, but here goes nothing, again. The Cheevo Archive Wiki is nothing less of brilliant. With next gen consoles coming out, how this Wiki is possibly dead alludes me. Coming from somebody who is one of the last editors of two Wikis they are in charge of, it is a god-awful feeling to have a dead wiki. So, the question is, "What should we do?"
I say Achievement articles. I mentioned this a long time ago, but somebody deleted my article. My immature, pre-teen mind at the time told me to leave the Wiki for dead. Now quite literally, it is dead. Anyways, back to my point. On original games added (e.g. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3), articles for the game itself weren't just put up. Individual articles for each individual achievement were also posted as well, using a format I am still a fan of and use over at the RAGE Wiki.
What I am recommending is that those willing to bring this Wiki back to glory get in chat one time or another and we discuss each page that has no achievement articles and who is willing to do those articles. Keep in mind that this is a massive undertaking, but it is sure to draw the attention of people that would dare say this Wiki is a lost cause, and perhaps attract newer users to edit more. If we had more detailed guides in the achievement articles, perhaps more people would come here for help, not just to edit. Seeing as how I am not an admin, I can not see how many people visit the Wiki each day. But I imagine those numbers are still impressive. Seeing edits that have no date by them in recent activity on the right is depressing. One with an edit every minute is inspiring (at least to me, I eat that up like a romcom).
For the future, we need to take advantage of the youth of the next gen consoles. Putting up pages and guides for popular titles like Watch Dogs and Titanfall could be helpful, considering that's what people are playing. Improving Grand Theft Auto V from just a sentence wouldn't hurt either.
That's my take on all of this. I hope it helps somewhat, as it is the saddest thing that a Wiki so ambitious is as dead as roadkill right now. I have to try, but I can't do it alone. Remember, guys, we're not dead yet. Not if I have anything to say about it.
Until next time,
